Not Peter A but then who? Toby Stafford
This heavy 32cm bowl (my fruit bowl now) I bought a few years ago Op shoppin, & I think it was from an exhibition Pete had at the Craft Quarry here in Whangarei about 2000.
I think the exhibition was called 'Slow but Rough' & this group of bowls his 'Nikau Series'. I remember wanting one!!!...........& yeah then I dropped something heavy on it and broke it, Ive been gutted since..

Re: Not Peter A but then who? Toby Stafford
There are two marks in the Potters Marks book for Peter Alger.
One is sort of like a three leaf clover and the other looks like a schnapper.
That doesn't mean that he only had two marks though, so lets hope that someone comes along that can confirm this mark and beautiful bowl are his.

I was trying to find some info on Peter and his mark, and came up with this link - https://www.google.com/search?q=peter+alger+mark&hl=en&rls=com.microsoft:en-US:%7Breferrer:source?%7D&rlz=1I7TSAU&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=zipmUcigFJGdiAfKlYCoCg&ved=0CF0QsAQ&biw=1366&bih=643 - Careful! No its not Peter's mark..
So best thing to do was to contact Peter & ask him &
although this bowl is his style.. its not Peters,
which makes me feel a bit better about breaking it!
Peter said he doesnt recognise this potters mark either.
so that leaves it a mystery potters mark on a lovely bowl,
& I would still like to know whos mark this is..
