Re: New Zealand stamp dishes
I see that servimg is cutting the end off you pic zana like it did to mine the other day....
If you repost the pic using the smaller pic size.... 360 or something it should show all of the pic and I will put it into the Crown Lynn Gallery along with my Taniwha stamp dish

Re: New Zealand stamp dishes
There were three of these dishes made for Foreman, Waikato in 1969.
The shape number of the dish is 8010 and they were made on the Ram Press.
It seems that these were some of the first stamps issued when decimal currency began.
d545 - 15c stamp - Tiki [Greenstone]
d546 - 20c stamp - Maori Rock Drawing [Taniwha]
d547 - $1 stamp - Tasman Glacier

Here is my Taniwha stamp dish that I happily paid $100 for from an Antique shop about 10 years ago, which was before my Trademe days, as I thought I may never see one again!
I have never seen the Tiki Stamp dish, if anyone has please let us know.

Re: New Zealand stamp dishes
Very nice too! It seems the Tasman Glacier one is more common. I have never seen a Tiki one though. Has anyone?

Re: New Zealand stamp dishes
I am besotted, as this is the missing stamp in our Patterns Catalogue, but at $28 plus postage I'm trying to keep at arms length arghhh
15c Hei Tiki Stamp d545
I got this ashtray, just for the 15c Hei Tiki d545 stamp pattern as it's the first piece that I've seen with it on. I knew what it looked like as the Post Office Stamps have this on record.
This is on a 3615 Three Clip Ashtray and these were first made 12.9.68 and has a pretty Teal colourglaze on the outside. I meant try to match the colour to see where it belonged ....
I have far too many ashtrays and I don't even smoke !!

Selling Crown Lynn New Zealand Stamp Dish d547 - $1 stamp - Tasman Glacier
Hi all, I have one of the Crown Lynn $1 Tasman stamp dishes (d547) I wish to sell.
1) Anyone know how much it might be worth? I'm ASSUMING that like stamps, the higher face value ones are rarer. I hope?
2) Any hints on where to sell it? Here? TradeMe? Ebay?
Thanks in advance!

Re: New Zealand stamp dishes
Hi there and welcome to the site
A Taniwha stamp dish sold recently for $101, but I'm not sure what the Tasman one sells for.
I would recommend Trade Me for selling it, as they have a huge Crown Lynn audience.
Good luck.
