Mystery Pottery Australian?
Hi
I'm putting this in Australian pottery but I don't really know for sure if they are or not. Tony many be able to help on this one. We have had this group of pots for a long time now. Some are old family ones but the odd other one has been picked up over the years.
They all have a thick green trickle glaze over a distinctive white or yellow slip. Tantalizingly I have never seen one with a clear mark, even though some of these appear to have black stamped marks under the glaze. There is just not enough to read.
The forms are distinctive also, particularly the three-handled vase which makes me think of some Tasmanian pottery I once saw, but I would really like to hear from somebody with some expertise. They have a 'feel' of the 1920s-30s and are lovely and solidly made.

Re: Mystery Pottery Australian?
I'd recommend getting in touch with Geoff and Kerrie Ford at the National Museum of Australian Pottery http://www.australianpottery.net.au/contactus.php and sending them photos of your pieces. I've found them friendly, helpful and very well informed.
My impression of the Tasmanian McHugh and John Campbell pottery is that they used a greater range of hue contrasts in their glazes.

Mystery Pottery Australian?
Thanks Tony, will do.
These have all been in NZ a long time, and it will be really interesting to find out where they all came from.
