Which cups go with what saucers?
I've been asked to start a topic regarding this, so c'mon lets get posting as there are so many different shapes to cover!
Crown Lynn designed cups to fit the well in the saucer, so if they don't fit, they probably don't belong together.
I will start the ball rolling with Apollo - Elegance
The fluting on the bottom of the cup matches the fluting on the saucer -
Hmmm I wonder if the pics are big enough?

Re: Which cups go with what saucers?
Cup shape 754 with matching, but unknown shape number saucer, Symphony British backstamp. Saucer is a classic shallow bowl shape.

Correct cup and saucer for Earthstone Camille
Glenys wrote:This is the correct saucer (Forma shape) for Earthstone Camille.
I am working on the correct saucer for cups of the other Earthstone patterns.
This is Earthstone d624 from Mrnarna
It looks like the cup and saucer that go with Landscape pattern but that is d625!

re: which cups with what saucers
Does anyone know which is the correct cup to go with the Roydon Tam-o-Shanter range? I know my grandparents had orange tulip cups in their mixed up set, but maybe they were for the Kelston Virgina plates? I'd appreciate some light on this!

Re: Which cups go with what saucers?
Someone may correct me, but I think the green tulip goes with Tam O Shanter and the orange shape 25 goes with Virginia .....
Edits to add that now I think that Virginia has orange tulips .....?

Re: Which cups go with what saucers?
Virginia does have orange tulips .... check out this auction -

Tam O Shanter looks good with the green tulips -

there is another auction that has orange 3019's and they look really great -

Help!
Both cups go well with this saucer.
Can anyone show me which cups go with the saucer and what saucer goes with the other cup?

Re: Which cups go with what saucers?
The saucers are Sandown. The cup on the right is Sandown. The left cup is Landscape.
Re: Which cups go with what saucers?
Thanks, The cup on the left isn't landscape, It's the wrong colour. Basically it's the same colour as the Sandown cup. I have landscape cups and they aren't as yellow.

Re: Which cups go with what saucers?
Oh ok, so lets see what else it could be then.
It's not Camille as that has the pattern on the cup.
Sandown is the other cup in the photo.
Autumn ..... let me check my Earthstone catalogue ...
Autumn, Polynesia and Landscape have similar looking cups.
Does that help? lolz

Autumn has a pale colour background more like Landscape.
That leaves Polynesia
I don't have a Polynesia, what colour background is it on? Creamy yellow like Sandown?

Re: Which cups go with what saucers?
Polynesia has the cooler background like Autumn and Landscape.
I've sent a photo to you to have a look for yourself.
Glenys, can we please use your photo of the Orzel spice jar that you have listed on TM please? We don't have that one and they are not seen very often. Cheers Ev.
Another question ...... you have a Flaire' vase listed. Do you know anything at all about that pottery?

Re: Which cups go with what saucers?
Wow, you're quick, I only just listed that!
No, I don't know anything at all about Flaire'
I have seen some lovely things made by them though, stylish would be the word.
Please use the Orzel photo. I'm always thrilled to find something not in the gallery I guess it is a different decal.
As for cup and saucer -
I'm guessing Polynesia.
Here's pics for all the Earthstone afficionados to contemplate
Cup on right is Landscape. Detail of top of 'mystery' cup

Glenys,
I'm presuming Ev meant the basketweave Orzel.

Small Coffee Cans that aren't Cook & Serve
Edit.
Beware!
In this post I identified the saucer for 3023 cans as 744. That is wrong.
These are the correct saucers but the number is 4017.
------------
Wow, I had no idea how difficult it was matching those patterns.
I decided to wait until Ev and Glenys had finished before posting these.
I have made mention of these matches in the Cook & Serve link but thought this was probably the appropriate place to put them. Janice asked about this in the other link and I made a comment on Val's blog too.
3023 Coffee Can and 744 jumbo cup saucer. [title edited 18/6/14, see note below.]
These are the ones I call the 530s": Captain Sharples, Purple Myrtle, and Arthur and Martha are the only patterns I know of.
These are black colour glaze saucers marked "Colour Glaze" in green.
The marks on can and saucer do not match.
Wide simple saucer, 149mm diameter, large well for the cup (larger than for tulips)
to match inset foot rings on the cans, and a small diameter foot ring. These came with the boxed Purple Myrtle set so I am confident they are the correct shape. The other patterns may have had different coloured saucers but my guess is not.
The black looks good.
18/6/14 I have just acquired my first jumbo cup and saucer (in Fleurette so I know they are a match). The saucer shape is the same as these ones that came boxed with the Purple Myrtle 3023 coffee cans. 3023/744!
3022 Coffee Can with 4018 saucer. [title edited 18/6/14 following confirmation of both shapes in April.] There seem to be quite a few patterns on this shape. Janice has the same pattern in black.
Wide simple saucer, 146mm diameter, very large well for the cup (larger than the top one) to match full can width (minimal inset on foot ring) and large diameter foot ring.
These saucers both came with the cans that sit on them. They are both plain colours matched to the colours of the can patterns. Cans and saucers all marked "Kelston Potteries" in black. I have no doubts about these saucers being correct.
These cans sit happily on Cook & Serve saucers too, but the saucers look too small.
Of course being cans they are fine without saucers but if you are trying to match saucers to the cans, or wonder what the oddly-sized saucers are for this should help.

The Kelston Potteries saucer is a 4018!
