Ovenproof Cookware is the 8631 Large Bread Dish
Found this unusual shape this week looks like a sandwich tray but is marked as Ovenproof Cookware. Did a search and didn't find but had an idea that I had seen and sure enough there it is, the last entry , page one of the backstamp gallery, slightly different stamp layout but on the same body colour item it seems.

Re: Ovenproof Cookware is the 8631 Large Bread Dish
I think it's one of the 56xx numbers Jonno, like your 5625, but later in the series, maybe a 564x.

There are two sizes for these tab handled dishes and Sundowner has them in a photo from 1980 and these shapes are in a Sundowner 1981 Price List:
8631 - Serving Dish [records say - Large Bread Dish] 30.7.79
8630 - Entrée Dish [records say - Entrée Gratin Dish] 30.7.79
Thoughts please ...

Re: Ovenproof Cookware
If the larger dish measures about 230mm overall it could well be the same shape.

Ok the large dish is now going into the Gallery as the 8631 Large Bread Dish.
Thanks Jonno.
Has anyone got the smaller one that is in the pic that Janice posted?

re Ovenproof Cookware is the 8631 Large Bread Dish
I have a pair of each of the two smaller Entree Gratin dishes shown in the photo with the blue cross marking the ,the one roughly in the centre measures 223x97x35m no moulded number but must be 8630. Works well for entree of Asparagus with lengths cut in half.
Also have a pair of the small round dish 148x410mm with moulded 5625 shape#.
Different line drawings were used for each style with different Chefs and different scenes in busy kitchens. The senior Chef is on the back of each of these with the rest
of the printed description, looks like he may been doing a bit much sampling of his wares.
"Avondale Gourmet Selection Ovenware New Zealand" is printed in the same Coffee Brown as the illustrations.

Marvellous thanks Jonno. Also we have the 5625 Baker in the Gallery, but are still looking for the 5626.
