peters favourite Titian candlestick...
My word that is simply stunning!!
I've only seen the candlesticks in Gail Henry's book and the black and white photo doesn't show the true beauty.
Gail says that Mary Baillie was the decorater .... and she appears to be an artist in her own right!
Thanks so much for sharing such an magnificent piece peters

Re: peters favourite Titian candlestick...
peters, there is an article in the May 1968 Crown Lynn NZ Ceramics magazine about the 'establishment of a close association with Titian Potteries of Takanini'.
It's an intoduction to Cam and Dorothy Brown really, with some history and production processes etc eg. they once fired their ware[!] and there is a lovely photo of them both and Dorothy is holding one of those gorgeous candlesticks. There are two or three in the background too. They even mention that Miss Mary Bayly [sic] is in control of the decorating room.
Thought you might be interested. [ps I'm going into the city next Wed]
