Hi there, on the above topic I thought you might be interested in a current trademe listing

Crown Lynn plates numbered x 2

talking about tableware numbering 277_b10

there are two plain side plates both have numbering written under the glaze
the plates differ only slightly though one is a bit lighter in weight and a bit less white
the numbering is entirely different on each, I have shown only one.

Some more strange numbers or letters on the base of a hand potted vase and they look green too ....

looks blue to me, but seems likely that kind of numbering was related to them being experimental in some way?

That's a thought Cat as I've never seen a handpotted with that bronzey glaze on it before.

hehehe would like to take credit, but it was mentioned in the auction that it was an experimental - so I put 2 and 2 together
