Colonial Saltglaze Book
My book on Colonial Saltglaze will be out soon. It's a a book about my perceptions of industrial salt glazing and what remains behind from this era. Just 50 copies will be printed. Essays by Barry Brickell and Graeme Storm, plus interviews with Ian Crum and Peter Stichbury. Lots of colour images, including a brief visual history of salt glazing from around the world. Still looking at paper back or hard back and page count will be around 120-140.

Re: Colonial Saltglaze Book
This is such a lovely book!
The photos are stunning and cover early English and a wide variety of New Zealand salt glazed ware. Bellarmine bottles abound and they are all so gorgeous because of the magic that happens when fire and salt are mixed at the right temperature *swoon*
Great reading material from Barry Brickell, though I wasn't sure who the writer was at first, but quickly solved that question.
Graeme Storm and his quirky little salt kiln shows fantastic Kiwi ingenuity ..... just love it!!
Peter Stichbury and his enthusiasm and craftsmanship are perfect for this book.
Ian Crum was extremely interesting, as he made the salt glazed pipes come alive as he relived the past and thanks to Tim's prompting clarified the name used for kiln snot, or kiln goop..... wait for it ..... it is called kiln drops. Rather disappointing really
The beautiful Len Castle salt glazed pieces from the beginning of his pottery career are amazing.
Thank you Tim for putting this together as it is a wonderful historical view of NZ salt glazing.
