Did Crown Lynn make this Mickey Mouse?
I found this today http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=470464295
Has a fraction marked base, but did Crown Lynn make such things? Wondering just what the reserve would be from this seller

Yes pretty sure it is CL. They are quite sought after I think.

Re: Did Crown Lynn make this Mickey Mouse?
I asked the trader what the markings on the base are, as the photo isn't clear ...
I wonder why they are ignoring my question
Don't think I have that much to spare atm anyway

Re: Did Crown Lynn make this Mickey Mouse?
He took a long time to reply to my e-mail for payment instructions when I bought the lamp base too, said he was very busy, didn't worry me as the longer the cash stayed in the mortgage the less interest I was paying. He will answer before the auction ends I would say.

You were right sunshine, as he finally gave an answer!
Says that it reads 17-9 D on the base, which means nothing to me just yet ....

17th day of the 9th month - 17 September, I have heard that is how you interpret the fractionated numbers. Don't know what the D stands for though. Could be the person working on it.

Re: Did Crown Lynn make this Mickey Mouse?
I googled Crown Lynn mouse and a different coloured version comes up so seems like Crown Lynn (although clearly everyone has already ascertained that!). I think they look cool.

Re: Did Crown Lynn make this Mickey Mouse?
I just wish that I could see the base markings clearly, as I have a mental block with this. I have seen one Mickey Mouse jug/mug... in Geoff Perkins collection.
Google images showed me several Japanese Mickey Mouse mugs ....?
The glaze does look like Crown Lynn, but I need to see the base properly.

Re: Did Crown Lynn make this Mickey Mouse?
http://www.collectiques.co.nz/mouse-sirod.jpg has one submitted but they don't have a pic of the back sadly so maybe I am wrong about it being CL? The seller on TM still has that hard to see photo - looks like a 17? Who knows! But the numbering does seem to have the same shape as other numbering but that could mean nothing. The great thing about CL is the mystery isn't it. Would LOVE to know for sure.

Re: Did Crown Lynn make this Mickey Mouse?
When this site began, the info was based on three sources matching and coming up with the same result.
Sirod [Doris] is a big Crown Lynn collector, so that should be one source, though there is nothing to back up the claim.
I did find a reference to a Mouse jug in the booklet from the Crown Lynn Crockery of Distinction Exhibition in Wellington. Can't remember it though .... can anyone else?
Keep a look out for more reliable sources
Trademe traders are the worst source for info and make all sorts of untrue claims.
