Re: Coffee Set 1084 - 1092
hon-john sent me this pic of the 1084 Chunky Coffee Pot - the number is on the base.
This will be the glaze named Basalt.
The 1058 Coffee Pot of mine does not have any numbers on it, but matches the Crown Lynn drawings. Though the line decoration that stands out in the drawings is very subtle and can be felt rather than seen. This will be the Lucow glaze ..

My information of numbers and descriptions from the Auckland Museum note many of the number sequence around these coffee pots as "Chch". This includes the Ngakura ware.

Re: Coffee Set 1084 - 1092
I came across this photo while I was looking for something else today... hon-john sent it ages ago ...
Blow me down ... there is the 1084 Coffee Pot and the matching 1087 Jug and 1088 Sugar Basin with lid 1089 !!
Nobody had a clue way back then if there was any connection

The matching cup & saucer and the coffee mug
I don't know if you've seen the cup & saucer & the coffee mug so I have attached some photos. The cup is #1091 and the saucer doesn't have a number. The coffee mug is #1086. I have also seen a coffee mug which is green on the top half. Some years ago we bought a complete set which included the coffee pot, milk jug, sugar bowl & 6 cups & saucers from a lady who had bought it from Luke Adams.

Re: Coffee Set 1084 - 1092
Thanks so much Rocke
The 1091 is called a Chunky Cup
The saucer should have a number as well .... Heather may be able to help out there .... when she's not too busy
I will have to get a Crown Lynn/Luke Adams Gallery up and running with all of the shapes that we already have..... hope to get some free time over the Xmas break ....!

Re: Coffee Set 1084 - 1092
It's funny how things jump out at you after seeing them on here lolz
Yes these were made by Luke Adams Potteries in Christchurch after Crown Lynn took them over...
probably designed by Mark Cleverly too is my theory
Luke Adams goes back a long way in NZ Pottery history and is a very respected pottery.
I will just move your lovely jug into the Crown Lynn/Luke Adams thread....

Coffee Set 1084 - 1092
Thank you Ev. My daughter in law has about 5 of the mugs which she uses every day, once again, we found them and when she saw them she nabbed them!

Re: Coffee Set 1084 - 1092
Saw this set with the coffee pot, 6 coffee mugs, milk and sugar in an opshop today for $30 ..... I picked it all up and admired it and put it back down. Some of the numbers were very hard to read as they were covered with glaze.
Thank you narna for bringing this thread back to life, as I didn't have to go looking for it
