Roydon or Royton ?? Empty Roydon or Royton ??

This auction has me puzzled. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Is it possible that someone has hand written Royton in stead of Roydon? Possibly a past owner who did not know the correct name? Or could this have been made by someone other than at Crown Lynn / Titian ? Suspect

Looks to me like someone has handwritten Royton in felt tip, instead of Roydon which was the brand name for goods produced for McKenzies stores. can't see it as being an official stamp.

As the base has been modified, I'm guessing that it's a 'Hobby Ceramics' piece. I've read that Chris Brown the son of Cameron Brown adapted Titian moulds to make blanks for the popular Hobby Ceramic classes of the late 70's and 80's, where they would supply bisqued wares for the students to glaze. All the pieces that I've seen has a surname and a year on them, which would be necessary for identification purposes.
