Are any of these the number 1 Crown Lynn ??
There are several vases listed on TM, all looking like the Crown Lynn #1 which I have 1 of already. Mine has no markings on it, but am sure it is Crown Lynn. I found these ones, which I thought I would add to my collection ..

then this one stumped me! All say they are 14cm tall, how will I ever tell now!

Re: Are any of these the number 1 Crown Lynn ??
Oh Yay .... as the last one has a name stamped onto the base - Salford England.
Crown Lynn/Ambrico copied many of the early vases from English Potteries and that may be where they got the No.1 from .....?
Ambrico ones were sold to Saliburys in the bisqued state who then in turn painted them with paint .... which seems to come off over time. All that I have from that era have a number on the base, either stamped or inscribed.... though not all do .....
Salisbury often did a spray painted effect which I saw on a couple of the above.
Don't touch the chipped rim one as there are still many around that are in good nick.... a lot cheaper than that too. I still find these early shapes in opshops for a dollar or two.
If you want to be sure that it is Ambrico ... wait for one that has a number on it maybe?
By the way I saw you giving away a pair of No.3's recently .... hold onto them as they are very old, or just sell one.
Heather has collected most of the 1 to 99 early Ambrico shapes as a collection. Most of the photos in that Gallery are hers.
