No worries Jonno Smile
There is so much information and so many photos on here that things are hard to find sometimes.

Image Coffee Can for the Gallery Empty Re: Image Coffee Can for the Gallery

Post  Jonno Sun 3 Jan - 20:24

Checking my only Coffee Can today while researching Cook & Serve I re-read Jeremy's informative post about his collection and can see that my handpainted Image design can was intended to be stamped 28E as his was. My original posting and photo failed to see the very barest sliver of the bottom curve o an 8 but knowing what to look for I can see it under bright sunlight with a loupe.

So it seems this was a mould/shape number for these coffee cans back in 1963 when they were first released and rather than being part of the mould the number was stamped in after the shape was moulded.
