While trawling one of my local op shops, came across this vase on a shelf amongst some junk. They had covered the base number with some masking tape and it was an absolute steal. Came up nice after a clean.

Actually, have really gone nuts on the vases since my first swan and shapes. Must get some photos up...

Huh? Just had a look on trademe and it seems that the same vase was a 2070 as well? Does anyone know why and what the differences are between the two?

New four digit numbers were introduced for many of the old shapes, sometime in the 1960's.
They are the same shapes and were made at Titian Potteries after Crown Lynn took them over.
The Crown Lynn/Titian Gallery shows this very well, even though it has a long way to go yet.
Here is a link to page 2 of the Gallery ....

Wow Ev, what would I do without you? I thought it had something to do with Titian but I couldn't quite connect the dots.

Does that mean this vase is from the 60s or did they continue to produce both numbers from both sites? Sorry, don't mean to use you as my Crown Lynn Google...just interested. Smile Thanks.

I'm only learning too DaSiEm Smile
The 3 digit numbers were used until 1964 going by our Crown Lynn Shape Gallery and these would have all been made at New Lynn. I think that mainly Tableware was made at New Lynn after Titian was taken over, but I'm not too sure about the details, so have an open mind and hope to find out more as we go along.

Okay, now I'm really interested. Are you saying any piece with 3 numbers was made before 1964?

I'm gonna throw some photos up of what I've collected in the last 3 months. I have gotten some cool tableware that I haven't seen in your gallery either. Will post those soon...
