I found this little white dimpled round vase which looked very Crown Lynn-ish. H: 8.5 cm, W: 11.5 cm. There are no numbers or backstamps but it does have the scrawl of 'PS' on the base.

So my questions are: Who is PS? From what I've seen on this site, it could be Peter Shearer but this vase looks so different from his work I've googled so far. Did PS do work for Crown Lynn? I don't quite understand how the artist / Crown Lynn synergy worked.

Please educate me... scratch

Dimpled Vase - PS? - is shape 2121. S7304110

I've tried taking a photo of the 'PS' but my camera and the light are not my friend today. I'm hoping to get a better shot tomorrow, when I don't feel like throwing it at the wall... Shocked

I haven't seen that vase before .... was hoping that someone else would recognise it.
Peter Shearer is a studio potter and as far as I know he never worked for Crown Lynn.

This is the best I can do as far as the base goes...here's another angle of the vase:

It's definitely Crown Lynn with that Made In New Zealand stamp on the base!
It looks like there may be faint numbers near that initial?
Sunlight is the best light to take photos of bases .....
Could you try to do a 'rubbing' by placing paper over the possible numbers and lightly rubbing with a pencil .....?

Excellent work Ev. I just finished unwrapping this piece a couple of days ago. Still many more boxes to go...I've missed them all.

Almost 3 weeks now Ev. Had a wee mishap with one of our kitties who chipped a mustard B & B plate and one of my small glossy milk jugs. Very minor in the bigger scheme of things...

I will have internet by Friday so I intend to be far more involved back here again...

And yes, Christmas and birthday rolled into one. Loving it.
