I have this bowl plus another one in shades of brown that looks very similar except it has a scalloped top rim and no number. Is it CL and what would it have been for? Number on bottom is 2058(?)

That is the word that I thought of too Ev, but the bowl is only the size of a sugar bowl. Perhaps someone will know from the number.
Anyway, it is just another of the curios that resides here. Smile Thanks.

The 2058 came out of Titian and was called a "Footed Bowl". It has a bigger sibling in the 2057. These bowls were made in June 1976.

The couple of hundred dollars photocopying from the Auckland Museum is worth its weight in gold!! Very Happy

I'll say, thanks heaps Heather. Very Happy If I go to Auckland again a trip to the museum is definitely on the cards. In the meantime I will have to call on you occasionally to help with some ID. Wink I will also post a picture of the other footed bowl but as it does not have anything except Made in New Zealand it may be more difficult to identify. cheers

 I have only the two New Zealand Pottery books plus a small one on Timaru pottery I bought from the Oamaru Museum when I viewed the Temuka collection there, plus a large book called Craft New Zealand which has given me some info on the top craft potters here. I am always looking for more input study
