Footed bowl 2058 CL?
I have this bowl plus another one in shades of brown that looks very similar except it has a scalloped top rim and no number. Is it CL and what would it have been for? Number on bottom is 2058(?)

That is the word that I thought of too Ev, but the bowl is only the size of a sugar bowl. Perhaps someone will know from the number.
Anyway, it is just another of the curios that resides here. Thanks.

The 2058 came out of Titian and was called a "Footed Bowl". It has a bigger sibling in the 2057. These bowls were made in June 1976.

I'll say, thanks heaps Heather. If I go to Auckland again a trip to the museum is definitely on the cards. In the meantime I will have to call on you occasionally to help with some ID. I will also post a picture of the other footed bowl but as it does not have anything except Made in New Zealand it may be more difficult to identify.

I have only the two New Zealand Pottery books plus a small one on Timaru pottery I bought from the Oamaru Museum when I viewed the Temuka collection there, plus a large book called Craft New Zealand which has given me some info on the top craft potters here. I am always looking for more input
