Temuka Ware Sheedee or Speedee Kettle
Thanks to Gary for letting me photo the kettle. He has a significant Temuka collection including other wonderful NZ pottery.
Marked Temuka Ware Sheedee or is it Speedee? on the base in handwritten script, which was used in the Arthur Toplis era.
To be clear Speedee is a NZ company run by H. C. Urlwin Ltd and different/separate from the Australian Speedie. Who knows which one came first. Speedee operated in Christchurch and had a branch in Wellington.
This may or may not be related as it looks more like Sheedee on the base.

The blue kettle is in the Waitaki Museum collection in Oamaru. Photo taken during an exhibition.
