I have two swans the large white one has the Crown lynn stamp and 170 on the base. The black one is the same to look at as the white swan but on the base it has 170 and an X but no crown lynn stamp, just wondering if it is Crown Lynn can anyone advise me on this.

Hi Dan,

Is the black swan shiny or matt?

Crown Lynn used a shiny glaze on their black swans.

Fake swans were made in China that had a matt glaze on them.

You really need to show it to someone who knows about these things.

Lots of potteries reproduced the swans and they are all popular.

The best way to tell if they were made by Crown Lynn, is if they have the Crown Lynn stamp on them.
