OK OK, the great Eggcup debate is on again..I have just taken pics of my similar eggcups - and guess what? I didnt have a dog, I have a pig..which has similarities to Mark's dog... and the three green glazes are identical
see what you think -

Is that lovely green glaze the same colours as was used on the wee vases?
They would have been made around the same time.
Notice how the blue glaze 'breaks' on the dogs ear just as it does on the horses mane ....
to my eyes it is the same glaze .....?
They all look related to me!

Theres a dog at the top of this thread...
Adding this to the debate..I have that maroon glaze on a duck eggcup..
but now I see my duck eggcups are slightly different to the ducks in the gallery Portage Museum has along with others have my eggcup. it is marked unknown origin..they are 6cmh smaller than my monkey, frog & bird too..
It seems to me that crown lynn glaze cover on eggcups is thin like the Fish & monkey below, does anyone have one with a thick well covered maroon
glaze like my duck?
or are they all CL eggcups & is this just an example of early & later glaze improvements over time??

Oh Heather, there is a verified Sausage Dog in the first post :O
I just did a long post about Eggcups being verified by Manos ....
I must not have hit send ... as it's all gone and I've run out of time again!!
I did add them to the Eggcup Gallery though
Check out the post about eggcups on Crown Lynn: Crockery of Distinction, plus there are two videos
