Many small potteries seemed to make this shape or similar, but Crown Lynn never did.

Great thanks Ev. The 'Made in New Zealand' font and style is exactly the same as the photo in that thread from Brooke Ceramic Studio. Thanks so much for pointing the way - and now I know it's a bailer too!

The mould was made by Hemara Hemara and he supplied many different potteries.
Also these were available in bisque form from pottery suppliers.
Your one appears to be made by AAC.
