765-8 Entree Plate
I would have thought that this plate would be 8 inches across ...
instead it is 8 + 3/8ths inches !
You will have to take my word for it that it really is a 765-8
as the camera wouldn't let me take a pic of the stamp .... and I tried everything!
This is a lemon colour glaze plate.

Re: 765-8 Entree Plate
This entree shaped plate is sometimes called an ashet ...
not being familiar with that word I looked it up on dictionary.com and this is what it says :
"ASHET - a shallow oval dish or large plate"
Learn something every day

Re: 765-8 Entree Plate
I have a few ashets kicking around, one in green bamboo I think and maybe a couple in plain colours (colourglaze maybe). I think there are different shapes (profiles etc) and minor variations in size. I can't find them just now. I'll have a scout around.
(Done that , cant see them. Found anothe cache of C&S tho)
I'm presuming that measurement is width not length.

Ashet, thank you!
What an interesting name, I'll use that one as I have a few.[img][/img]
Very confused about uploading the images though!

Re: 765-8 Entree Plate
These are my examples of the Ashet style plates.. Part of my eclectic mix of dinnerware.
Of the eight I have, the Neptune pattern has the backstamp 765 8 /
The rest are slightly bigger in size so would they be 765 9 ( 9 referring to 9 inch) Or a completely different shape number? Still ploughing though my notes from the museum LOL
