Thanks for washing the nicotene off it first, thought I think there may still be a flyspot...
It is, however, very pretty...

Re: Crown Lynn Swans
Part of the Thorburn collection currently on loan to a small Sydney collection - the Better-get-these-in-the-post collection:
This small mixed race family consists of a Kiwi father and a mother of unknown origin. For some reason, hybrid vigour perhaps, their child is shinier and more ornamented than either parent.
Swans mate for life but are discouraged from demonstrating this on the kitchen bench.

Re: Crown Lynn Swans
Certainly a duo-nation swan family...just like yours!!
Today I took some photos in daylight with a little shuffling around of my swan shelf - I am trying to have the black one visible without having to resort to using the staircase.
Here are the results...

Re: Crown Lynn Swans
We will all have seen the coloured swans Nik has up on trademe at the moment. Just reading his comments on the bottom...would love you to take up the subject here Nik...I am confused - not just by the different shape but also by the colours...which I have not seen on other crown lynn pieces. Could these again be the 'blanks' talked about by Salome and decorated by individuals outside Crown Lynn?

Re: Crown Lynn Swans
If they are the supposed 'blanks' -
the potter jolly well knew what they were doing when it came to glazing them....
they are gorgeous!
