Possible Crown Lynn
I have recently inherited a collection of Crown Lynn but there are some items that are not marked and I'm unsure if they are actually Crown Lynn. Any help would be appreciated.
1. Continental Airlines Mug (marked 1300)
2. Father-Candiol-Buckly Mug
3. White vase
4. White Swan (soap holder?)
5. Maori Head (lamp?)
6. Maori (ink well?)

Re: Possible Crown Lynn
The first mug definitely is. I would like to think the lamp base and inkwell are Wharetana, but I don't know enough to say yes or no. The base of the inkwell looks right to me.

Re: Possible Crown Lynn
Wow you have some very interesting pieces there KayJay !!
1.The tankard is Crown Lynn.
2.The Father cup looks like the one that Crown Lynn made, but with hand written words, unlike the end result ... https://www.newzealandpottery.net/t5906-that-big-father-cup-and-a-little-ballins-monogrammed#22847
3.The Vase wasn't made by Crown Lynn and is possibly English.
4.The Swan Soap Dish was not made by Crown Lynn and the base tells me this.
5. Wharetana Mask Lamp base is Shape 1042. Hard to find!
6. This inkwell is very intriguing! The shape is very similar to the Wharetana Salt and Pepper and the surrounding decoration is definitely from the Wharetana era. Very unique and worth a lot I would say!

Re: Possible Crown Lynn
Thanks Ev! My Grandfather worked in Crown Lynn Potteries alongside Tom Clark so I suspect the Father cup and the inkwell may be one offs or at least very rare. Is there anywhere I could take them to be looked at?

Re: Possible Crown Lynn
Well that gives great provenance KayJay
Not sure who will be able to help you, as those pieces are unique, but I would send photos to Webbs, Cordys and Art & Object Auction Houses in Auckland, also Dunbar Sloane in Wellington to gauge the response.
Jolly Good Luck and thanks for stopping here and showing us.
I would like to add the inkwell to the Wharetana Gallery if I may please?
I will credit you for the photo KayJay
Very exciting
