I didn't realise until recently how many of the potters marks were not linked to the topic that they came from, so my current project is linking them all, as that is what this site is all about.
To be able to see some examples of work and the mark in a big format is important.
However over the many years this didn't always happen and I am as guilty as many of the other Admins.
This has it's advantages as there are some dubious marks and I'm moving them to the Mystery Marks to wait for confirmation.
Also in doing this, it puts all of the marks we have fresh in my mind.
There are around 25% to 50% that already have a link.
Plenty to keep me busy for some time Wink

Thanks so much Janice!

I also have been adding links to the Gallery posts for years, but in the early days I only worried about doing it with the Mystery Marks.

However now that there are over 10,000 topics it isn't that easy to find the original post.
I'm up to E after a few days and will plug along as there is no hurry and due to covid I do have time on my hands.

I remember ( years ago) you said there was an easy way to find the thread . How do i do that?
What i been doing to find the orginal post is either to search the topic or is scroll through pages and pages of posts by the person whose photo it belongs to. Both ways takes ages to find.

I just search using a Topics keyword.
Sometimes I need to use the Posts keyword as the name isn't in the heading. For example when topics have more than one Potters' Mark or Look at my Latest Finds.
My last resort is using Google for the Potters name+newzealandpottery and that usually finds it.
I have had to go to the date that the mark was posted occasionally in the posts, but that is very time consuming.
I would never scroll through the posts of the poster, as mine only goes for a few years as I post so many.
I have done E and F in a couple of hours today.
If you can't find the original post, just leave that name Janice Very Happy

Wow what a marathon as it took over a week to link the marks to the topics in the Potters' Marks Gallery !!!
Now I realise that all of the Galleries need linking and the linked rate was around 2%, so it was a lot of work :O
I couldn't find several marks, no matter how hard I tried.
Perhaps they were buried in topics with multiple marks and they were not put into the heading ...???

I will have a rest now though and decide what to tackle next and it will probably be the Aquila/Orzel etc Gallery.
