The base has an impressed long tail B, also a stamp of a mine tower, plus

Made in Australia.
Thanks to the Australian Pottery Discussion Group on Facebook for help with identification.
The mark was thought to be Barbara Skeltons, but she said it wasn't her mark and it's easy to see how different these marks are when they are side by side ...
