Tableware Shape names for kiwijenny
kiwijenny asks a good question.
"What are the shape names for the tableware?"
In particular she wants to know the shape names for Cherry Blossom, Pampas and Cresta.
The Forma shape and the Apollo shape are two shapes that kiwijenny is familiar with.
I have a Crown Lynn Catalogue from 1988 that has shape names included.
Listed as the Classique Shape are:
Jasmine Flower
Duet
Pioneer
Spring Flower
Homestyle
Listed as Rim Shape:
Chelsea
Pampas
Plain White
Modern Living
Listed as Fluted Shape:
Apollo
I have scanned the pictures of all of the above from the catalogue and posted them into this topic.
They show all of the pieces that belong to each set which is helpful too.
Here is a link to the Pampas photo kiwijenny ...

Shapes? Designs? Colours? Much confusion!
Thanks very much for this info.
I guess it is the 'Rim' shape of 'oatmeal' and 'side' plates I've got most of now but the cups seem tricky. For example Pampas has rim oatmeal and side plates the same as Cherry Blossom but these I have different shaped cups for these two. Did CL often make different combinations of item shapes with each new design?
What about colours? I have seen 'Cresta' in brown and grey colours - did these have different design numbers for the different colours?
Did they have all the same shapes for the various items with the different colours?
I can't see discussions on this sort of issue in Val Monk... Anywhere else?
Cheers from a Confused KiwiJenny
PS how do I put my pictures on here?

Hi Jenny,
I am going to let Ev answer most of your questions as she has become quite an expert trawling round op shops etc! I know the Autumn Splendour pattern for example had different shape cups for the same pattern as guess there was alot of mix and match going on.
We know of a collector who had boxes and boxes of the transfers so I guess the pattern and the shape were not necessarily made for each other..
Ev has a post telling you how to put up pictures here...I downloaded servimg and then copy the photo onto here..but see if you can follow the instructions given by the expert. If you cant, please send me a message and I will go through what I do.
