Crown Lynn Refrigerator Jugs
Hi All
Can anyone out there in pottery land confirm if all Mcalpine jogs made by CL have the CL markings on the base. There has been a few on trademe lately that have no markings on the base, just wondering if they a legit or copies.

Re: Crown Lynn Refrigerator Jugs
Hi, Studio Ceramics also made the McAlpine jugs and I'm not sure if they stamped them or not. Stepahead Ceramics is making them now and I gather that they are marking them with their name.
That is the best I can do sorry. Crown Lynn has a certain weight for size that tells me if it is was made by Crown Lynn or not and the finish is exquisite.

Re: Crown Lynn Refrigerator Jugs
I have a pale mint green Studio Ceramics jug which carries the standard Studio Ceramics stamp. Remember that Studio Ceramics made these jugs in colours that were not used by Crown Lynn.
And this is the stamp on my Crown Lynn McAlpine jug. That should give a reasonable idea of what the base looks like on a Crown Lynn jug. (Sorry mine is a bit grubby!). There is no guarantee that all CL McAlpine jugs were stamped, but of course there is an element of doubt if they are unstamped.
Sorry Peter E this is rather vague but might help a bit.
