Re: Mystery marks on large Jug is Kim Morgan
Hi there, I'm not even sure if that is salt glaze on the jug, as it reminds me of a glaze I used for a while.
The markings remind me of Asian stamps.
Perhaps a photo of the whole jug and the base showing the clay might help?

That’s Kim Morgan of Havelock North.

Once you’ve seen his black ash salt glaze it should be unforgettable.

Wow thanks Jeremy!!
It certainly helps to see the whole piece and this is perfection.
Is this his mark for large work, like that stamp Greg Barron uses?
I will check it out and add it to the Potters' Marks Gallery if that is acceptable.

Amanda, once you have looked at a bit of his work you will see that the handle is also uniquely his own. It really is beautiful work.

Ev, if you look at his own work and the piece I have linked to in Rick Urban’s store you will see that he has added a third stamp. Greg’s added stamps are just deco but I don’t know about Kim’s. An email might give you an answer.
I could be wrong about Greg’s stamps. That was really just a guess.
