HI all
I am wanting to sell my Mum's white vase that is made by Ernest Shufflebotham but I have no idea on how to price it. Is there a site I can go to that can give me an idea?

Hi niana, and welcome to the site. You could try browsing expired auctions on Trade Me by doing a Google search on the vase and adding Trade Me on the end, but it will only give you more recent auctions, or will not give you the price. You might be lucky to find some auction house results by googling also, such as Art & Object. Does it have a hand inscribed number on the base, we would love to see it. sunny

Ernest Shufflebotham Empty Marking

Post  niana2000 Sun 5 Feb - 9:13

Hi and thanks for your reply. I am trying to work out how to insert a photo of the vase. But yes, there is number 78 hand inscribed on the bottom. It is a white oval vase with seven ridges that start half way down. I am not sure if my description is very good Smile . I see that the exact one is at Te Papa as part of the Crown Lynn display (there is the same one on a blog about their display. It is the first one that comes up) Anyway, it was my Mum's which she used to put her hydrangeas in.
Thanks for the info I will have a look around.

Hi niana,
Do you see your vase in our Handpotted Gallery?
I'm not sure I've seen a 78 before.
Here is a link to our Gallery ...

Hi thanks. The number is 79 not 78 and it is the case numbered 34 on the page you gave me.

Thanks for your help

I wondered if it was the shape 34, but the 78 or 79 wasn't familiar and I wonder what it refers to.
These fetch some really awesome prices on Trade Me.
