Old English thatched cottages? Is Tradition or Cottage
I don't want to look through the patterns gallery to find out so I hope someone will tell me as I didn't have this one. It is on the rim shaped dessert bowl.

Heheee yes and that was an easy way of finding out the name
Though I recall that I do have a saucer in the Apollo shape, so I will have to do some research now.

Research shows we have in the Gallery:
Tradition Brown d733 Apollo
Tradition Blue d734 Apollo
Cottage Brown 33020 Apollo
Cottage Pink 33010 Rimmed
Still to be found are:
Cottage Scene d883 on Apollo [same pattern]
Tradition d613
Cottage Blue on Apollo
and this one above on a rimmed shape with a brown band.. so I will add it to the No Names Gallery!
ughhh so this still has to be resolved!

You could be right there Kat.
Today I found Cottage Scene d883 in the records and it is another Apollo pattern.
The record doesn't give much away though ....

Re: Old English thatched cottages? Is Tradition or Cottage
Found this plate & now think this is Cottage Blue (single colour) like Cottage Pink & Cottage Brown in gallery...& the blue bowl above is Tradition Pattern,
note it is two shades of blue...
the backstamp is different too & probably why we havn't found a Cottage Blue plate yet, also we don't have this backstamp in gallery.

Re: Old English thatched cottages? Is Tradition or Cottage
That's a great backstamp Kat !!
I still don't have a computer and phones make me go cross eyed!!
I'm borrowing my other half's lappie and hate it, but will only use it if I have to.
This plate could also be Hamlet Blue d864 as it is on Apollo and I would like Janice to check it out with the records when she has a moment please xx

Re: Old English thatched cottages? Is Tradition or Cottage
From the museum notes:
Cottage Scene 883 and Hamlet Blue 864 are the same, its the "tradition Pattern" on Fluted (Apollo ) shaped flatware. (4019 - 4022)
They both use a 'plain white' Fluted Shape Saucer 4019
The only difference that I can see is that the cups are different....
Hamlet Blue 864 uses a Tango Blue Glaze 3024 cup whereas the notes for
Cottage Scene 883 show the cup at the top of the list which I interpret to mean the cup has the Tradition pattern, rather than a plain colour.
Ev.... I found a hand written page which shows a DS number 283 for Tradition which says "altered Pattern" So there could be a slightly different one out there
Question, what's the difference between Cottage Scene 883 and Cottage blue 330 ( I cant find a pattern page for this one)

Cottage Scene d883
Further to the last post...
Cottage Scene d883
Shows the usual, plates, oatmeals and so forth but also says it came in
6018 shape Jug
8014 shape Oval Meat
4026 shape Veg Bowl
3025 shape Sugar Bowl with 1090 shape (white) sugar lid
So if anyone out there has any of these in 'blue with the tradition pattern' in 'one shade of blue' ... that will in my thoughts be a definite for "Cottage Scene"
