Shape 479 Slender Pitcher Jug Vase ...
This is the shape 479 from the Crown Lynn Modellers book and it measures 8 1/2 inches ..
This is the shape of a jug vase that I found on Trademe, it had been listed a few times and I always wanted to get it, but at 20cm it was a little short. However I decided to bite the bullet and get it as I have never seen another shape like the 479.
The clay is yellowish like the old Ambrico clay, there are no marks on the base. However the jug vase has been glazed in a pretty blue first and then a deep maroon glaze has been put on top, giving a rich colour with blue peeking through here and there.
Oddly there is a film over the clay footring like varnish that can be removed when scratched.
Bright green thin stripes have been placed near to the base and also down the handle ..
I would like to know if we can use this jug vase for shape 479 in the Gallery please. We need two other people to agree with my thoughts. Half an inch is quite a lot really, so my guess is that this is a prototype .... By the way I just love it ~.~

Could the notes have been done pre firing maybe and not allowing for shrinkage? It looks exactly the same to me, so you have my vote for the gallery. Nice colouring, well done!

Its too unusual of a shape for it not to be; despite the slight size difference. You have my vote too
On the photo the base looks like it has no foot ring ? that maybe the missing 1/2 inch LOL
