Royal Oak Table Planter
Maryr has posted a pic with white/black one of these above this ones
Antique Gold coloured mesh with a trough vase that looks like its not Crown Lynn with wedge feet..initially wasnt sure if the green was correct but now think its original..see pics..the black/white catalogue above has a number 1410..is that the shape number for the trough alone or product number for the complete mesh & vase.?.
Mystery hanger Ive hung onto as Im sure is Royal Oak just not sure what it off..does it wall hang? theres no obvious wear or broken point in the paint.
It shows the bright colours they used..and different shades of green.

Both items were manufactured by Royal Oak see photos.
The trough vase is a Crown Lynn No 21, product. No 1404.
The scrollware was sold with a hanging Crown Lynn bowl.
Product No8.

Re: Salisbury catalogues etc
Yes, I know the Ambrico/Crown Lynn shape 21 very well and it's the one in the gallery that you linked to Kat. We will have to delve deeper into this. I'm sure haselnuss has one as well and hopefully there is a clue on her one.
Re: Salisbury catalogues etc
On the Auckland Museum Collections Online, I found a Scallop Shell for Royal Oak and the maker was Sherwood Potteries and it has to be this one
Re Salisbury catalogues
Hi all, I'm so sorry to ask a newbie question - but with regard to the kingfisher in particular - does this mean it is not a CL shape, but is a Salisbury shape? Thanks so much for the clarification! 😊

Re: Salisbury catalogues etc
Hi there ann marie
That is a good question as Crown Lynn made the Kingfisher and Salisbury decorated it and then sold it using the Salisbury name.
Salisbury did this with many, many pieces that they sourced from various potteries.

Re: Salisbury catalogues etc
Thanks Ev, and the parrot shape also? (I see the discussion re the 165 and 156 kiwi) I also have both (glazed) plain white and coloured kingfisher and Parrot. The coloured Parrot has holes for flowers, the plain white does not. Oh so confusing for a newbie!
Thank you for the clarification, I understand now that Salisbury took CL (and other potteries) shapes and added value by painting/glazing or adding to them and then sold them. So much to learn!

Maryr wrote:Recently someone from Royal Oak/Salisbury gave me some old photos of their ware. These are scans of photocopies so not as clear as I would like, but I hope they are still useful.
This is a display of the early ware. I have left the photos quite big so hopefully they can be enlarged.
This Log Vase is the same shape as the one in the first photo bottom row, second on the left. Photos courtesy of Toni Skellon. I will add it to the Salisbury Gallery and would very much like oakpot to check it out and if possible tell us who made it.

Re: Salisbury catalogues etc
OMGoodness yes indeed !!!
I wonder who all made these baskets?
I have one, but it doesn't have the sticker.
I will add yours to the Royal Oak Artware Gallery.
The sticker at least gives it a time frame

Green small vase and wire display
I felt sure that this is sailsbury ware, but was suprized how small it is.
Anyways.. ... I bought it as it's very retro also.... I have a wall display shelf that has the green leaves on it too.
In fact... I bought it from Hon John a few years ago at Tamahere market.
Anyways. Back to the green vase ... it looks to be in the gallery and hopefully it's sailsbury. ..
