Re: Chopstick holder from Expo 70 ......
Yes I believe it is Gail Henry.
I remember writing to her about the auction for the Holophane lampshade, which is the single item for which she has received feedback. Some may recall from my intro here that I have a large collection of Holophanes (ie 300+). Also for sale at the time were the "author's" copy of 2nd edition, and a handpainted demitasse which I believe appeared in the book but I cannot be sure as I only have 1st edition (and as usual do not know where it is).
------------
Later Sunday
I take the correction about which edition it was, as I remember now - if it had been the second I would have been tempted. 2nd edition was to be offered to buyer of first.
Profile name is Gail, but there is no Gail Henry (or Gail Lambert in Te Puke in the white pages.)
And anyone can make typos. On top of that, Nicole's iPad keeps mis-correcting me and makes total nonsense of many words, and always wants to put an apostrophe in its (except that time, so maybe it's learning).

Thanks Jeremy, I knew that I'd seen something listed about Gail Henry recently and it was her 1st book signed by the author! I didn't check out the Profile so didn't realise it may be Gail. Not sure why she wrote stone-wear instead of stoneware. Just to let you all know that we already have this holder on the site and in the Four Digit Gallery -

From Richard Quinn's collection at the Crown Lynn Exhibition.
I don't have the 1st edition of her book and I've come across so many photo references lately that are not in the 2nd edition that I'm now hankering to get the 1st.

Oh yes, I was watching the handpainted demitasse from the author's collection too !!
Gail Henry was the Historic Places Trust Lower Northern Area Manager for several years and was actively involved with many places in Hamilton and surrounding areas.
I can't find any references to Gail Henry after 2011 and in April this year the Historic Places Trust changed it's name to Heritage New Zealand.
