What do you make of this cup shape?

The saucer looks very familiar and the cup shape is usually the South Pacific/aka Fat Bum that goes with this saucer. I have a photo from the Museum from 1960 showing rows and rows of these cups ...

Is it the same cup? It appears to have a definite line around the middle of the cup .... I've asked if there are any stamps on the base of the cup, but haven't had a reply yet.

I saw that listing too .. it does look different that what I have seen before, it looks quite rounded but that could be the angle of the photo..
I have a yellow cup with a white handle that is an older shape ( number unsure) I need to check if its the same shape.
The TM listing does look like the newspaper ad but not 100% sure

The trader says that the cup has a Crown Lynn stamp and will add photos on Monday.
I think it is that line in the middle of the cup that is puzzling me ....? The shape looks squat and fat, but that could be from the angle as Janice suggests.

The line in the middle is the reflection off the saucer - well thats how I see it LOl

Re: What do you make of this cup shape?
Oh yes you could be right as the ring could be from the white rim on the saucer.
Re: What do you make of this cup shape?
I don't think it is a reflection, as it is too narrow, and a reflection from the saucer would have a different curve. The base of the cup looks to be white like the handle and inside too, very interesting.

I thought that this was like these mottled wares, but they don't have a white cup well

Re: What do you make of this cup shape?
That's me bidding, Anne.
Reddawn sold a demitasse in same colour and glaze recently but I didn't buy it because of a strange stain.
I just pulled my picture of it and looked at the two duos side by side. Same white handle, interior and saucer rim.
As the demi saucer has a plain (ie pink) coloured cup well I double checked the auction cup and saw that that too has a coloured well, and that the white is the foot of the cup.
You can see it in the b&w photo Ev posted too.

Auction killed,
The seller, andrewkevin, has removed bids and reset start bid at $10,000.
I reported them to trademe.
It was only after reporting that I saw their explanation:
"the box that the cup and plate was in has been taken to storage accidently. so to be fair I will remove the bids and will relist it once I can put more pictures on."
Fair to THEM maybe!

Oh #@!*@# !! I for one was really keen to see what the cup shape actually looked like, and now we are in limbo. I hope the seller is true to their word and does actually re-list it.
