Ancient Ship or Sailing Ship ???
Found a pattern that I thought could be Kat's Ganges mug, but while looking for a time frame for it, which I never did find, I came across Sailing Ships! Whichever pattern Kat's mug is, there are at least two other ships in the series.
Ancient Ships d996
Sailing Ships Q1300
Personally I go with Ancient Ships, but I need confirmation please....

Re: Ancient Ship or Sailing Ship ???
That may even help as I can see a Sailing Ship and a Vintage Car
Re: Ancient Ship or Sailing Ship ???
When I checked 'posts since last visit' and saw your two threads regarding vintage cars AND sailing ships, I thought you must have seen the thread in TM collectors forum that I have linked the photo from - trader was wanting to know pattern name/s for those mugs too... I was a mite surprised to find completely different mugs

Re: Ancient Ship or Sailing Ship ???
Actually that thread sparked me off to look for ships and cars to solve our mystery patterns hahaa and now perhaps it is all falling into place? But I will wait for more confirmation I guess ~_~
Re: Ancient Ship or Sailing Ship ???
Jill has a set of six different on a mug tree in her shop.
(Same shape as first pic.) I think they are all ancient.
Shall I photograph all six when I get back to Whangarei?

Oh yes please Jeremy and then we can hopefully make a decision as to which is which ship
Re: Ancient Ship or Sailing Ship ???
Ev, I don't know if this will help.
I think I have a mix here of "Ancient" and "Sailing Ship".
My guess, those AFTER 1000 AD would not be ancient, but then again,
maybe the whole top line could pass as ancient.
Good to see I am not duplicating the one above.
(Ev, I have individual photos if you would prefer them posted separately.)
1 Nile Boat in Egypt 2000 B.C.
2 William the Conqueror 1066
3 English Ship 1300
4 Columbus "Santa Maria" 1492
5 Drake's "Golden Hind" 1377
6 Pilgrim Father's [sic] "Mayflower" 1620
photographed with permission of Jill Kneebone at "Decor Revived", Kamo Road, Whangarei.
Thanks Jill.

Re: Ancient Ship or Sailing Ship ???
Fantastic work thanks Jeremy and thank you Jill
To me the top row look like Ancient ships and Kat's as well ...
The bottom row look like Sailing Ships definitely ....
If nobody disagrees I will add those two patterns to the Gallery!

Re: Ancient Ship or Sailing Ship ???
the 3052 - one - the one that is on the thread...
we thought it said "flax"
I was trying to read the word - as its hard to read, but since the pattern is around the rim, that's why I thought it must say ""edge""?

Re: Ancient Ship or Sailing Ship ???
As I couldn't read the first word it just says Patterned Mug in the Gallery. Could you add Edge to that please .
