I wonder which potter made the cup and which one decorated it?

Marked Jonathan NZ Russell. This looks like a very similar fish to me, especially the way the scales are drawn.. I wonder if Jonathan is the JM on the mug?  cat

How on earth would Jono Gribble end up with initials RL ...? One can only guess.

Jonathan also used the "Elbirg Pottery" mark both hand written and impressed. Lots of his work around Wanganui. Visited his studio up at Quaker Acres and also bought from his shop in Trafalgar Square.

Mumof1 posted a blue mug that I recognised as his as I had a platter the same. I posted a photo of the pieces I still have of his then. As I said then he seemed to move away from potting to more ceramics in the mid to late 90's. I would have bought quite a few of his pots in the early 90's in Wanganui.

Hi Kat
    I have  seen some of my pottery on a blog you put out last june!
My name is Jonathan MacInnes ,I potted in Russell BOI for 20+ yrs .I stopped 6yers ago,how ever I have recently purchaced another Kiln and will again make beautiful things and some ugly ones too!
The three pots in question are all mine , Fish being my spiritual light.
    I hope this clears up the mystery .
