Op shops are bearing wonderful gifts at the moment that's for sure !!!!
Can't be sure if that is a Steenstra or not, as I see beautiful vase shapes when I think of him. It's great to see the Handpotted stamp Well done

Kat can you convert the height of this planter into inches please?
As 10cm seems very small ?

Re: Green Handpotted courtesy of Kat & Co
I'm just wondering if this might be a 7011? It looks like it might be late 50's early 60's when CL was still deciding how to rationalize its hand thrown wares. One of the reasons I say it might be just before the four digit numbering system was introduced is that it has the old 'handpotted' stamp; but on the other hand one of the reasons it could fall within the new size-based (rather than shape-based) system is that it falls within the 3"-5" size band for being a 7011.

Re: Green Handpotted courtesy of Kat & Co
I'm trending towards this being 1960s for one reason - the lathe-incised decoration around the waist of the pot which appears to have been a characteristic of much of the (actually quite small) body of CL hand thrown wares from the 1960s that I have seen.
So - together with its size (smaller than the smallest of the three standard Shufflebotham sizes of 5"-6", but within the listed range of later 7011-numbered pots at 3"-5"), I'm going to argue that this is actually a real 7011.

Val Monk page 51 talks about Daniel Steensta and how he decorated his work using coloured slip. Also there is mention of how he used a tool to decorate while the piece was revolving on the wheel.
The planter above fits both of these techniques.
Also I've noticed that Steenstra has a definite style where he has turned the base of his work. The depth is consistent and also the inner angle.

Hey thats interesting.... Hhhmmmm.
Is this unmarked vase handpotted CL? the neck shape looks alot like a 7012 in the handthrown earthenware gallery. It has a white body & the glaze on the base is the same creamy white as Green...even the walls of this pot are of similar thickness to the Green pot. I havnt seen any CL with this marbled glaze before...but the purple striped Steenstra vases in gallery look decorated similar..I wish I could see them closer.
It is 5 1/4" inches high x 5 3/4"wide

Ok Kat
We were hoping to be able to identify this shape, but not at the moment it seems, as we can only find the 7016 8 inch Flower Pot.
There were two of these handpotted planters and saucers in the adverts at the Museum. The first is from 1962 and has this to say:
Take a peep at our newest hand-thrown release - pretty flower pots and vases in a variety of gay colours. Specially suitable for bulbs, indoor plants ... floral artists will be delighted.
A photo includes different vases and a planter .... photo for a short time only -

Hello, The planter pot and saucer on the advert looks very much like the one that Ev posted for me some time ago in Planter pot courtesy of haselnuss.
I have two of them one being slightly taller. Did they make them in different sizes and not just the 8inch version?

Re: Green Handpotted courtesy of Kat & Co
Steenstra must have made them in different sizes, but they don't show up in the records. That photo is all work done by Daniel Steenstra.
