Reading up on Studio pottery
Hi everyone, no I have not disappeared off the face of the earth. Just adjusting to life with a small person underfoot now. (Grand-daughter age 6)
Gave myself some reading time lately, a book from library called Conetendown, story of studio pottery in NZ 1945-1980. I have to admit that I know nothing about it but slowly learning. Some lovely examples in the book.
Was going to ask what the title means but have read explanation in introduction just now.
The library has sealed down the fold-in parts of jacket which have potters marks on, negative brownie points to them!

Re: Reading up on Studio pottery
I still miss your pottersmarks site Tim, because it isn't being added to any more and I read a remark by Peter Stichbury that there were around 20,000 potters in NZ at one time according to a Census statistic!
Re: Reading up on Studio pottery
It is being added to, but its just not online, when ever I find a new mark it goes into the database.
