Re: Shanx's Specials Dept Elephant
So pleased. Found an identical black elephant in an op shop today and was hoping it was Crown Lynn and not the similar Sylvac one. Cheers!

Re: Shanx's Specials Dept Elephant
I've only seen this shape in the triple glaze and not in black. I have a Sylvac one that was my Mother's and liken it to that, but who am I to argue with Brian Ronson. I can understand all of the hooo haaa.
The mention of a Crown Lynn collector's site always catches me out, as I get excited and want to know where it is...... then realise they are talking about the New Zealand Pottery site

I am so peeved I missed out on watching that auction as it happened.
I felt sure that with all that grief in the questions that it was poisoned.
Two people didn't think so, cos it went to $905.
I have a friend who collects elephants. Has a house full of them.
We head off to Tikipunga market together every Sunday.
I'll have a good conversation opener tomorrow ...

Unfortunately for me (but not for him) his son was visiting today so I did not see him.
He was born in Sri Lanka, so to him it is the elephant that counts not the maker.
Elephants are lucky. But maybe luckier for some than others!
