what shape number is this cup
and what about this monster
roughly 8cm square
and shown here against two other cups including the 755 (the smallest one in this image)
this big cup has no backstamp just New Zealand on it.
Re: what shape number is this cup
Is the middle one a 773? Is the handle on the last one the same as the middle one?

the two smaller ones have same handle
the big one is different
Re: what shape number is this cup
The big one looks similar vintage to the old railway cups...the handle and cup shape are different to what we have in our notes from the museum...I agree the first one will be a 755...and the second one I still think to be 773...

Re: what shape number is this cup
It truly is a whopper of a cup, I might just use it as a coffee mug.
Re: what shape number is this cup
Heather can you check your notes for the 700 shape .... re the monster mug.
Do your notes gives sizes for the mugs?

Re: what shape number is this cup
I don't think that the middle cup looks like the 773 museum pic .....
The middle one in the third picture
There's still one cup requiring a number in this old post from mrnarna:
Third picture middle cup.
I don't think Jim has this one. He may have similar size with 700 handle (right) not 755 handle (left).
I think I have also seen it amongst photos of railway cups (in one of the museum collections).
As it hasn't already been stated in this thread, original query photo is a 3610.
And for those not up to speed yet the 773 is a demitasse coffee cup.

Re: what shape number is this cup
A skinny little handle.. it looks wrong on the heavy cup shape, they probably fell off or broke easily me thinks.
